Welcome to the Awakening of the Senses Yoga Retreat at the exotic city of Marrakech, a city that is guaranteed to seduce you. You will experience beauty where no embellishment is too extravagant; a convergence of passions that will awaken your senses.

Join us on a 7 days, 6 nights journey of discovery, magic, adventure, wellness and Arabian tales. Dream mosques, palaces, fountains, rose gardens, hammams, markets, spices, museums, fashion, camels and one night sleeping under the stars of the desert. You will taste, feel and touch the oriental essence magnified by rose water, argan and Prickly Pear Seed oils, honey dates and mint tea.

You will experience a unique yoga practice, meditation, chanting and sound healing. Indulge in oriental spa treatments while absorbing the teachings of natural herbal medicine. Your Marrakech voyage and cultural exchange experiences will remain in your hearts forever.

This retreat is opened to all levels of yoga practitioners.

“The Medina”, is the heart of Marrakech, its old city center founded in the 11th century. It is renowned for its treasure trove of mosques and palaces. Wander among a maze of narrow streets and magical souks. You will love its herbal markets and antique shops, and be captivated by its snake charmers, folk dancers and street food vendors.

Nestled inside the vibrant Medina, and hidden behind tall walls, you will discover our home, an oasis of peaceful living, “Riad Sakaan.

LOCATION

” It is an authentic Moorish home with its pool garden courtyard, purifying Hamam and stunning rooftop. This stylish oasis is filled with hidden treasures and enchanted fragrances.

Here between light and shadows life is sweet and there is a sense of absolute serenity.

Your last night will take place under the stars of the breathtaking Agafay Desert, at “La Pause” desert camp with a magical and unforgettable Arabian night.

    Start your mornings with a Vinyasa Yoga, meditation and chanting led by Shayne Cohen.

    Vinyasa Yoga is an energetic form of yoga where students fluidly move from one pose to the next while synchronizing their breath to their movements. Shayne’s classes integrate a dynamic flow with the application of precise alignment, meditation, visualization, intention and chanting to create an inner journey towards healing and empowerment.

    Each class is designed to systematically stimulate the organs, glands, nervous system and move freshly oxygenated blood to the entire body as you release tension and simultaneously develop faith and intuition.

    Adriana Vergara will be here to assist the newer yoga students reaching their own individual level.

MEET THE TEAM


  • CO-FOUNDER / YOGA INSTRUCTOR

    After a long and successful career owning and managing international luxury fashion boutiques Oxygene, in Bal Harbour, Shayne took her experience in the luxury market and partnered it with her other passion – yoga and wellness.

    Born in Bogota, Colombia, Shayne Cohen grew up as a competitive gymnast, developing strength and flexibility at a very young age. She was initiated into yoga by Sri Dharma Mitra in New York City. For nearly 30 years she has remained fully committed to her yoga path.

    Shayne focuses on asana practice, meditation, chanting and acutonics sound vibration healing. She is a group and private wellness coach and is fully dedicated to inspiring others to follow the path of wholesomeness.


  • CO-FOUNDER / DIRECTOR

    Born and raised in Bogota, Colombia, Adriana is a celebrated contemporary art consultant based in Miami, Florida. She spent the past twenty years immersed in the world of arts and culture working with many local and national art institutions including the Bass Museum, Rubell Museum, CodeArt, Miami City Ballet among others.

    Her dedication to a yoga practice for over 15 years led her to co-found Anahata Eco Yoga Retreats to serve those who have the same passion for yoga, travel, nature and wellness. Adriana completed The Apprenticeship to the Sacred Wild, folk herbalism and spiritual ecology; and RYT 200 Sadhana Power Vinyasa.

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY

  • 6 days / 5 night accommodation at Riad Sakkan.

  • 1 night stylish glamping experience in the Agafay desert.

  • Daily yoga, meditation, sound healing, & spiritual ceremonies.

  • 3 daily meals inspired by local cuisine.

  • Daily tours to discover Marrakech.

  • NOT INCLUDED: Flight transportation, Spa treatments and alcoholic beverages

  • Reservation must be made with a non-refundable 50% deposit.

  • Balance is due before March 1st, 2024.

  • Payments are non-refundable nor can they be credited towards a different retreat.

  • Credit card payments will incur in a 3% additional fee.

WELLNESS AND SPA TREATMENTS

NOT INCLUDED IN RETREAT PACKAGE

We recommend you schedule with us any of the treatments before we travel. Limited slots will be available so that treatments do not interfere with our busy daily schedule.

  • American citizens do not need visa to travel to Morocco, other countries do. Please check in advance according to your nationality.

  • There is no requirement for test results or vaccination certificate when arriving to Morocco.

  • If you are flying from Miami we recommend flying with us as a group. Once you book your spot we will send you flight details for booking. We will be departing from Miami the night of October 13th with a layover in Madrid, arriving the next day in Marrakech.

  • If you are traveling with the group transportation to and from the hotel is included in the retreat package.

    For those in different flight, we will be happy to assist you with transportation at your cost.

  • All prices listed are per person.

  • We will be mostly serving a pescatarian traditional Moroccan cuisine. Plenty of options will be available for vegetarians. Please let us know in advance if you have any restrictions, we will be happy to accommodate you.

  • You can reserve your spot directly on our website or by emaling us. A reservation requires a 50% none-refundable deposit. Cancellations are non-refundable.

    The remaining balance is due prior to March 1st, 2024.

  • Bathing suits, yoga clothes, shorts, tee shirts, sneakers and a light sweater in case the night at the desert is chilly. Some tours will require women to wear long pants or skirts.

    Yoga mats will be provided.
